One Last Glimpse

12x16 Oil on linen
This fall after painting in a canyon next to the water for the day in the cool shade I came up to the vehicle to see one last glimpse of the sunlight hitting this side of the canyon. What a nice end to the day!

Pears for Breakfast

12x16 oil

Where did the summer go? I've been waiting for those lazy summer days to come - you know those day's where all you have to do is read a couple of chapters in your book with your feet in the kiddie pool! That has not happened for me yet this year, always so much I can think of to do.  This still life painting gave me a sense of relaxing over breakfast while the sun was streaming in the window.  What do you think.....shall we have a pear for breakfast?

Thanks for visiting!

I loved watching this curious little one while I was out painting....hugging close to mama but she sure wanted to know what I was up to!

Thanks for stopping by!  I know it's been a while.....summer is slipping by so fast!

All Heart

24x14 oil on linen
Have you met my pup?  This is a likeness to her and yes, she is All Heart.
I adore her as much as she does me and we are almost inseparable.

Studio paintings VS Plein Air paintings

This large 24x48 panorama of the Rubies that I'm working on in the studio drove me into a frenzy to get outside to paint!  Impossible to get the same feeling in the studio.

Thank goodness I had a gorgeous day to get outside to paint!! I am suffering with a bit of cabin fever despite the "glass hut"  I have to sit in. I really needed to see if I could breath more life into my colors and there is absolutely no substitute for first hand experience. After a few hours out my own front door and two paintings later I'm a very happy girl!  Can you "feel" the difference in the two paintings?  Now I'm ready to tackle the large piece again..... Hey, maybe I'll haul it outside to finish up!

11x14    Oil - a challenge mixing the different shades of blue and still be warm.

Rocks and Water - Focus Study 6x6

Sometimes it is nice to just sit and focus my attention on the space right in front of me....
these little paintings are focus studies and I will have several of them available in my upcoming exhibit at the Northeastern Nevada Museum this Spring.

Thanks for visiting!!
